Musika Managing Director, Mr Reuben Banda, reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to supporting efforts by the private sector that will help grow the livestock sector in Zambia.

This was during Musika's submission before the National Assembly Committee on Agriculture, Land and Natural Resources, chaired by Hon. Maxas Bweupe Ng'onga.

He submitted that Government should create an enabling environment to increase private sector participation, and create incentives for smallholder farmers to adopt a more commercial mind-set for them to benefit from livestock farming.

The session was attended by 10 Members of Parliament who sought clarification on Musika's earlier submission to the Committee in December, 2017 on the challenges affecting livestock production and stocking, and recommendations on how to overcome them.

Mr Banda was accompanied by Operations Director - Joshua Munkombwe, Operations Manager in charge of Livestock - Dean Lihonde, Head of Corporate Affairs - Pamela Hamasaka, and the Research Manager - Timothy Sichilima.
